I have been photographing weddings for seven years now, and I can’t put into words what an amazing experience it has been. Every single wedding I photograph is completely different to all the others, every couple has their own unique dynamic and story, every day unfolds in its own amazing, beautiful way. Even the unpredictable and the uncontrollable elements (yes I’m talking to you, British Weather!) become wonderful, as they are always the parts you look back on more fondly as they truly define the day: A thunderstorm in July causing everyone to run, hysterically laughing, for cover? A baby blowing a loud raspberry in the middle of a quiet ceremony? The Best Man genuinely (temporarily) misplacing the rings? These are actually the events that make the day yours! And I just love seeing where each story will go, and most importantly, capturing everything as it unfolds.
I shoot weddings in a creative documentary style, I mostly sit back and capture what is happening without trying to pose anyone or get in the way, but I do so with a creative eye, trying to find interesting angles and compositions to create beauty and art as well as meaning in my photographs. I also help to create moments between my couples with gentle direction, through asking questions and inviting people to interact genuinely.
I’m currently only take on a handful of weddings a year, but if you are interested in talking to me about capturing your wedding day I would love to hear from you to see if I am the right wedding photographer for your special day.
